Dear Friends,
Opportunities don’t always fall in our laps, sometimes we have to go searching for them. As you might have guessed, I am a sucker for snow and winter. This winter has been lovely, with fabulous adventuring opportunities, but in terms of getting out in the snow, the opportunities have been few and far between for me. This past weekend, since I hadn’t been able to get out cross-country skiing very much this season, I hopped in my car and drove up to a park in Pennsylvania, as the park website said it had 7 inches of snow on the ground. It was just a fabulous morning of skiing. Full disclosure, the conditions were terrible…it was pretty much a sheet of ice with a titchy-tad bit of snow on the top. The conditions were way too fast for cross-country skiing, and I really didn’t want to fall because it was so hard and icy. Even so, the trees and the silence, me and my skis and nothing else…despite the less than ideal conditions, I had a lovely time. As I was skiing and thinking about making the trek up to Pennsylvania in search of snow I was thinking about how sometimes in life opportunities just fall into our laps, and that’s great, right? But more often than not we have to seek out opportunities, we have to take a chance and stretch ourselves, we have to be willing to put ourselves out there even when the act of putting ourselves out there might be a little intimidating. My dear friends, I hope this week we are a little more willing to seek out opportunities for growth and change, even when the seeking is a bit of a stretch. I hope you have an amazing week my friends. Love Krista
