Dear Friends,
In regards to movement, I’ve been known to say “find something you like and do it, if you can’t find anything you like, find something you hate the least and do that.” And, you know what, while some will always hate movement, the more we do it the easier it gets, and the more we will have the opportunity to eventually enjoy it…and perhaps, eventually, we’ll be a little more willing to branch out and try new things with regards to movement. One of my students just recently re-discovered the joy of our 10 minute classes. They’re quick, they’re low-commitment, a couple of the times slot into her day with ease, and 10 minutes makes a difference…10 minutes really can pack a punch. My sister faithfully takes my early morning classes, but always has to leave 25 minutes in to get to work on time. Mid-way through class we wave and she exits…and yet, even without the full class, those 25 minutes make a difference in her life. This summer I’ve really been enjoying paddle boarding when I have a few hours to spare. It gets me outside, out of my head, and into the water and nature. I’m sure, once the world gets a little colder, I’ll be back to wandering in the woods…but right now I’m really enjoying being on the water…but, my friends, that’s movement I can do when I have a few hours to spare instead of a few minutes to spare. Wherever you find yourself, whether that’s doing the thing you like, or doing the thing you hate the least. Whether that movement is long and leisurely or a few minutes stolen away, I hope you can find ways to get out of your head, breathe a little deeper and move your body this week. Love Krista
