Dear Friends,
A few days ago I was chatting with my son on the phone. He was on his way home from work, I was on my way to a class. It was rush hour in DC, coupled with the fact that it was on and off raining, and, as you can imagine, traffic was something fierce. We had our fair share of complaints about the traffic situation as we chatted. Our frustrations did not go by unnoticed As we sat there whining to each other in our respective vehicles, a bright rainbow burst out of the clouds and appeared all the way across the sky. The two of us saw it simultaneously and stopped our whining to wax poetic about the beautiful rainbow that had just moved into our vision. The rainbow didn’t stop the traffic from happening, my friends. The two of us were still frustrated about the state of Downtown DC and our navigation through the city. And even in that frustration, we got to share this magical glimpse of beauty in our day. Sometimes those places and spaces of beauty aren’t enough to stop and erase the trials and frustrations in our lives. And yet, my friends, we can still stop, enjoy, and notice the beauty and the magic all around us. Have a wonderful week, my friend. Love Krista
