Dear Friends,
All the airbrushing in the world…it might change the way we look, but, my friend, it doesn’t change our worth. This past weekend I had the privilege of spending the weekend with dear friends from far away. At one point in the weekend one of my friends took a picture of me in front of a monument, and then showed me how he can, on his phone, erase people and things that were not meant to be in the picture. The next day, after I took a picture, I tried, to no avail, to take a pile of trash out of said picture. We all airbrush our lives to a certain extent, right? Whether it’s with good make-up and nice clothes, getting braces or changing our bodies in other ways, controlling what photos get put up on social media, or taking people and things out of pictures that were not meant to be there…or a gamut of other ways we airbrush our lives…we all do it. And, my friend, I don’t necessarily think there’s anything innately wrong with the ways we airbrush our lives….so long as we also know, deep in our bones, that those airbrushed parts of us are not where our worth lies. We are worthy even with zero airbrushing…we are worthy simply because. My dear friend, I hope you can see and feel your own worthiness, deep in your bones…your very real, non-airbrushed self. Have an amazing week. Love Krista
